OpenTunnel Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

OpenTunnel is developed and provided by SpeedyJ Development. The app is currently available through TestFlight only, by invitation.

OpenTunnel is a VPN client for iPhone and iPad that connects to your own organization's Cisco AnyConnect-compatible VPN gateway.

This page explains how we handle the collection, use and disclosure of personal information when you use OpenTunnel. In short: we collect nothing. What the app needs to work stays on your own device.

What data do we collect?

None. OpenTunnel does not collect, store or share any personal data with the developer or third parties. The app contains no analytics, tracking or advertising code.

Data on your own device

  • Profiles (server name, user name, domain list) are stored only on your device.
  • Password (optional, for automatic sign-in) is stored only in your device's Keychain.
  • Traffic statistics and log (traffic per day and per host) are kept locally so you can view them in the app.

Network traffic

Sign-in happens directly with your organization's identity provider (for example Microsoft Entra ID). VPN traffic flows directly between your device and your organization's VPN gateway. The developer runs no server between you and those services and cannot see your traffic. Your organization's own privacy policy applies to its processing.

Third-party services

OpenTunnel uses no third-party services for analytics, advertising or crash reporting. If you share feedback or crash reports through TestFlight or the App Store yourself, they go through Apple and Apple's privacy policy applies. If a subscription through the App Store follows later, payment is handled by Apple; SpeedyJ Development receives no payment details.

Security

The connection to the VPN gateway is encrypted (TLS). Your password is stored in your device's Keychain and only leaves the device to sign in with your organization's identity provider. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we do what is reasonably possible to protect your data.

Links to other sites

During sign-in the app shows your organization's sign-in page. Those pages are not operated by SpeedyJ Development; their own privacy policies apply.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
